Q. What is a vanity callsign?
A. A Vanity call sign is an optional special Amateur Radio callsign specifically chosen by a person or club who is currently an Amateur Radio licensee. A Vanity call sign is a call sign that the licensee wants assigned by the FCC for use in place of an existing call sign.

Q. How. do I get a vanity callsign?
A. To request a Ham radio vanity callsign:
Login to the FCC ULS System, then:
Once logged in, click on your current callsign
Then, over on the right-hand side click: “Request Vanity Call Sign”
This will bring you to “Applicant Questions” pertaining to Fee Status. Answer “No” to both then click continue.
*** The FCC Regulatory Fee was eliminated for Amateur Radio Vanity call signs in September 2015.  There are no regulatory fees associated with FCC issued vanity call signs.  ***
This will bring you to “Request Vanity Call Sign” pertaining to Select Eligibility. In most cases you will select “Primary station preference list” and then continue.
