Parks on the Air (POTA) is perhaps the single greatest thing to happen in radio in our lifetime! That may sound a little dramatic, allow me to explain:
Old World:
Turn to a random frequency, call CQ and hope someone answers.
or
Spin the dial and look for a “net” or maybe get lucky and find folks talking.
POTA World:
Bring up the POTA spotter page and instantly know exact frequencies and locations of folks that want you to call them right now!
What is POTA?
Short Answer: Two (2) groups of people – folks that take their radio to a park called “activators” and other folks called “hunters” who try to call them.
